Well for the winter my car has been "stored" next to my house in our garage. I havent had it out since it snowed (around dec 1st). I recently started it up with no problems then went on vaction for a week. When i get back, i go to un-arm the alarm i notice its noticably lower "beep". when i go to turn it over i hear a "click" "click" and the gauges all go from zero to max and back to 0 continuously as the key is turned. The clicking stays as long as i try to crank it over. Also there is no engine crank whatsoever. (only clicking) just wondering if anyone have any input on how to avoid this and what it may be. thanks.

that would be a dead battery

to store a vehicle you should invest in a battery tender unit which you plug it to the battery then to the wall outlet and it monitors the battery and trickle charges it when need

I have 2 of these units
1 for a spare battery for my Aerostars
and
1 for Focus Wagon 2's battery seeing its almost brand new ( under a year) and I will be sitting all winter
