I appologize if this is the wrong place or anything to post this.

My little sister bought a 2000 Focus SE and it has a few issues. The IACV was one which was replaced yesterday. The other issue is if you take off slow (drive like a grandma or "normal" person) the car revs up before it decides to shift. With that said if you take of and drive with your foot in the gas a little more it doesnt seem to have an issue. Please Help!

If the rpm flareup is between 2nd and 3rd, they all do that once they get older, internal trans wear issue. The trans may well last for years like that.

The typical description, the first COLD trans shift from 2-3 when you say back up from parking space and then pull forward slowly, it does it then and maybe never again. Once trans is warm the problem is gone. Get in throttle harder and it doesn't show up.

when the car is cold or warmed up it does it if slightly getting into throttle. cold or warm getting into it more doesnt cause any issues it works just fine. would it be better to just change the trans or rebuild it?
