Hi guys, New here.
My girlfriend's 2000 FOCUS runs fine most of the time and a random it idles badly and has sometimes stalled. I did a tune up which it needed but It still acts up randomly. My guess is the engine computer malfunctions when this happens, No check engine light comes on though, the light that does come on when this happens is the little red light right above the HAZARD triangle switch, Is this some anti-Theft system glitch?
its the base 4cyl engine. any help is appreciated

i would check for vacum leaks. it seems that this is a huge problem right now. get some carb spray and spray it on the vacum lines while the car is running, if there is a hole or crack in the lines somewhere the engine will rev up when the spray hits the hole. that is all very easy.

it's not any vaccum line I checked with the carb cleaner.
any other suggestions?
