Hi Guys/gals, my first time posting here. Our used car lot just got a 2000 Focus SE 2.0 SP in and I bought it for myself. It's really low on power but runs and drives perfect otherwise, even idles great. The dealer we got it from said they changed the fuel pump and filter (which does look new) and narrowed the problem down to the #3 injector. I wasn't convinced but took a gamble anyway as usually they are good little cars, and I figured I could handle fixing it. Well I have changed all the injectors just to be sure, as well as the plugs. It has 210lbs of cranking psi in every hole, and a timing belt was done 15k miles ago (it now has 123k) It has great spark, pull a plug wire off and it arcs well and cuts the engine out as expected. I cleaned the MAF sensor which looked good. Any ideas? Any help is greatly appreciated, I don't know where to go next and hate to have it sitting. Thanks, Chad.

PS, there is no CEL on of course, not when you need it!

Well, the SPI engine you have only has 110hp so its gonna feel slow, if you checked everything over and it got a clean bill of health then maybe its just the jump from a cuda to a focus thats the problem.

Best of luck and welcome to FF

I wish I could say it was just the Cuda had so much raw power but the Focus is downright anemic. So bad you might get reamed in traffic. I don't expect to clean the streets with it or anything, there is definitely something up. How much fuel psi should it have? If you mat the gas from idle just sitting in park you can tell it's sluggish.

Thanks.
