Can I fairly easily stroke my 2.3 using a crank and connecting rods for a 2.5l?

If it's simple to do, i would think it'd be cheaper than buying a 2.5 only to replace all the internals anyways.

Also , how much would that change the compression? (Using similar pistons)

Why not just go w/ the 2.5 to begin w/?

Because spending $1000 on a donor 2.5 just for the bottom end and then buying forged internals would be more expensive than building a stroked 2.3 ( "2.4" or whatever) with forged internals.

But it seems I'll just have to do a stockish 2.5 or a built 2.3...

1000 for the complete motor. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places but, here in Utah, used 2.5's are hard to come by and I haven't been able to find just the bottom end...
