Pretty good deal for a synthetic oil change! Thanks for the tip!

even if it's only synthetic blend, that's cheaper than just buying the oil and filter and doing it yourself.

First thing I think of is some horror movie where they trick you into the haunted mansion.. Then suck out your soul while you wait... [nono]

As you can surmise.. I am big on doing my own oil changes.. having had 'enough' problems with idiots with a wrench...who are hired to do oil changes..

Now you think they would hire some 'average smarts' sort of guy? Nooooo...
They have unique tests to find guys dumber than a stump to be oil change specialists.. [deviltail]

Where I live, yeah, there is a certain type of person who ends up working at in-out lube shops. Even if it costs more, I'd rather do it myself just to be sure. Not to mention as far as I'm concerned, half the time the employees are smokin' dope before work.

I prefer to change my own oil, but living in an apartment and in a region of the country where it gets cold I sometimes pay to have the oil changed.

I'm due for my next change within about a month and it will still be cold when it comes time so I may farm this next one out. If so this will be just the second time in almost three years and 39K miles. Should be the 8th change...

Synthetic blend? Would 5% synthetic be considered a "blend"? Yep, just try to find the percentages listed anywhere.
Just bought a 5qt jug of Castrol Full synthetic for 21.88 at Walmart. For a few $$ more I'll go 100% syn, and know it was done right.

Synthetic Blend

Do you know that is what you're getting. I do my own changes and I know what is going in and I have the receipts to prove it. I use Castrol Synthetic blend and it meets Ford specs.

In my daily ford focus, I get a quick and easy coupon oil change once a year. With a crap transmission dct, the oil is that last thing on my mind. In my turbo miata however, I will get my own stuff.
