Does ne one have ne track times with an SVT focus with traction control....wuts the best times and how did u launch (rpms)....?

I hit my tc button revved it up to 4500 cuz if u go above that u usually spin so i got up to 4500 and let it fly and i got 15.39 but my first run i took it up to 3500 and the engine bogged down a bit but still managed to run 15.4.

When did you apply the TC and when did you take it off during your run? SHould you keep it on for the rest of the run or diengage the TC after take off?

T/C is what screws us so hard incase you never caught that if it weren't for T/C we would have a much better 0-60 and 1/4 time

I turned it off when i got on the track and since my car was left on it never turned back on till i left the track later that day i hit the button and turned it on..when ur about to make ur run just hit the button..i don't use the TC if im racing or at the track i just turn it off. TC Is definetly ur enemy when it comes to launching and on the track when it rains and its slippery its ur friend. If you want to permanetly disable it . Just pull the fuse its # 46.

Nah the only thing happens is that the ABS light comes on but again id only do it when im on the track.

svt 1/4 times(Las Vegas strip)

A BUDDY AND I JUST PURCHASED 2003 SVTF'S, A YELLOW EURO EDITION AND A INFRA RED .BOTH ARE LOADED ALL THE UPGRADES. WE HAVE DONE A FEW MODS TO BOTH CARS
KINDA MAKING THEM A LITTLE DIFFERENT ALONG THE WAY. MIND BOTH CARS HAVE LESS THAN 5K MILES.
- MY BUDDIES HAS A FEW EARLY MODS LIKE THE, STEEDA SHORT RAM INTAKE (DONT WASTE YOUR $), 21/2" FLOWMASTER CATBACK. ABS BYPASS SWITCHES.
- MY CAR HAS SIMILIER MODS BUT HAVE, AEM CAI INSTEAD, VF ENGINE MOUNT,MAGNAFLOW 21/2"CATBACK, AND A RESCENT MOD, OFF-ROADPIPE.O;AND ABS SWITCH.
BOTH CARS WERE PRETTY CLOSE TO BEING NECK AND NECK STOCK,I USE TO PULL AWAY A TAD IN 3RD GEAR THOUGH.
WE BOTH RESCENTLY RAN THE CARS ON THE STRIP TO SEE WHAT THEY WERE CAPABLE OF.
AND WE WERE A LITTLE DISCURRAGED.
FIRST OFF THE ELEVATION HERE IS AROUND 2100FT ABOVE SEA. HEARD THAT THE CARS AVERAGE ABOUT 1/2 A SEC QUICKER AT LOWER ELEVATIONS. NEED SLICKS OR DRAG RADIALS FOR THOSE HARD LAUNCHES FROM THE LINE.I SEE ATLEAST A 1/2 -1 SEC LOSS OFF THE LINE DUE TO THE 1ST AND 2ND GEAR ONE LEGGERS.BOTH THESE TIME SLIPS ARE THE BEST OUT OF 6 RUNS, TRYING MANY DIFFERENT TIRE PRESSURES AND LAUNCHES WITH AND W/O THE ABS DISENGAGED. BEST TIMES WERE ACCOMPLISHED WITH TRACTION CONTROLS ON AND FRONT TIRES AT ABOUT 30PSI.

WE BLAME MY BUDDIES CAR BEING SLOWER DUE TO THE STEEDA SHORT RAM INTAKE,I AT FIRST BLAMED HIM THINKING HE WAS A CRAPPY DRIVER BUT I EVEN TOOK THE CAR FOR ONE RUN AND SAW A MAJOR TOP END POWER LOSS AROUND 6- 7 THOUSAND RPMS. HE HAS SINCE REPLACED IT WITH A AEM CAI AND MAN WHAT A DIFFERENCE(DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY).I HAVN'T RAN WITH THE ORP YET BUT I DO SEE A BIG POWER DIFFERENCE AT AROUND 4-5 THOUSAND RPMS,WE SHALL SEE NEXT TEST AND TUNE IS ON THE 13 OF THIS MONTH. I WILL KEEP YOU POSTED.

Hmm so you think i should go with the AEM CAI vs the steeda short ram?

Pressing button to turn of t/c doesn't help you at all at dragstrip. I ran a 15.7 or something like that stock with t/c, then I pulled fuse and ran a 15.3.

yea with t/c i ran a best of 16.1 and with the fuse pulled I ran a 15.8 this was in kc,mo and our track here is about a good .5 plus slower then other tracks! [:(!] and this was all stock so we will see this summer what happens

well i didnt even pull my fuse out and i ran a 15.3 i just hit the button

so now the steeda short ram is junk? i have only heard good things? some one else who has one chime in plz....

YAY!

As far as steeda being Junk I highly doubt it, but on the 20th of this month I am putting the steeda up against stock airbox and AEM CAI on the same car at the drag strip.

Tight let me know how it turns out - im pretty sure the steeda isn't that bad who knows i think im just gonna get one of those and call it a day..

Well guys I know there are alot of people who like STEEDA, especially there mustang bolt ons. Unfortunatly my buddy and I have no good things to say yet for bolt ons for the FOCUS, except for that sweet (short throw shifter).The Intake was a "JOKE"(very cheezzy)The filter wasnt even a washable element didnt come with a mass air cone ,you hafto use the factory piece off the stock air box wich looks "crappy" and is very resrictive up against AEM. Also only came in blue.
To be honest guys we didnt even see a power difference. Took his car to the track and actually lost time in the 1/4. Here is a example of the difference.When in my car mind the only difference bieng intakes and muffler .We would be side by side off the line as soon as I hit 2nd I pulled away hard and even harder in third. My car averaged about 6mph faster at the track. ----He was so pissed, we have since pulled the intake and replaced it with the AEM.And for $149.00 id say fork the extra $65 for the AEM or just stay stock air box. IT WAS REALLY THAT PATHETIC. If your interested in it pm me.Its still in the box.

Just bought an all stock 2002 svt. Best time that I have run on the G-tech is 15.8 @ 93 mph. I did three runs and averaged 15.86. Ordered an intake and shifter last night, and will post back with G-tech times after I install the new parts.

I can't do comparison tommorow, my clutch and flywheel haven't arrived yet.

Hmmmm really that is very interesting, because I have had both the AEM and I'm on the Steeda intake now. I have notice no difference what so ever between the two and the Steeda has been dyno proven to give much more in HP and TQ when in a comp to the AEM CAI. Now dont get me wrong, I enjoyed and liked my AEM CAI, I did have my complaints also concerning the AEM. Of course you did just give your opinion of the Steeda, but numbers do not lie. Before you go and compare, run both on the SVTF. Also it helps when you have a combo of mods that when combined your will feel and get the max in performance.
