Hi guys, I'm new to this forum, I was suggested to come here from another forum. I have an '05 Zx4 st, and was wondering how to go about doing a engine and transmission synthetic oil conversation. Should I just do a drain and fill, or use marvel mystery and seafoam to flush it and then add synthetic? Also, what type of synthetic would work best for the engine and trans?

Just change the oil/filter & install a new filter along w/ Mobil 1. Your trans comes w/ the spendy ford synthectic fluild. Since you have a st, I'd do a bsd= remove the oil pan & remove the balance shafts= 5 bolts & its in your hand. Install a plug in the oil feed hole for the bs's & then reinstall the pan. Install 6qtrs of oil & filter. You'll notice the motor more responsive & gets better mpg. Great saturday morning project.

Just drain & fill.

You started with a syn blend in the engine, and the trans. would have full synthetic already (Ford Syn. manual trans fluid recommended).
