Check it out! I blacked out my lower grill bar this weekend. A little blue masking tape and a can of Jet Black Wrinkle Finish Krylon... Bada-boom sweet new look!
The Wrinkle Finish gives it a little texture. I think three black areas in front look better than just the two fog light areas.

yeah a closer pic would be better. i can see where you were going with the wrinkle finish, and i like the idea. i may steal it and use it, but with a smoother finish....

ive also thought abouyt having my dad help me cut out the lower grill and put his master fiberglass skills to work and fiberglass the cut out area so the bumper looks stock like that....

you should paint the insides of the headlights to complete the front in, that'd be sweet :)
That sounds like quite a challenge, but would look great.

There is a guy over on FJ that did this same thing to the same exact color car. Looked hella sweet.

Ok, here is a better photo. This is a before and after shot. The original car when I first got it and the way it sit's today. honhon if you dad is good with fiberglass have him make you a chin spoiler. Something fairly small that would go just under the opening in the lower grill opening, wrap around and feather into the body at the front wheels. That would be sweet and you might be able to sell them on the web!!

You know I can't decide... some days I think a black grill would look better and some days I like it Copper. It changes with light angle... direct sunlight it looks too Coppery but at an angle it looks darker. The real problem is if I go black I can't go back.

Hey that looks great! Where did you buy the clear lens? Do the 05's have the same lens as the 04 and back? I'd like to get some for my 05 ZX4 if I can. Are they hard to install?

JayH,
I got the clear side marker lights on eBay for $22.00 w/shipping, yellow bulbs included. The passenger side was easy the driver’s side was not! The air box on the 05 is in the way so I had to remove the plastic fender well cover and the lower plastic under the bumper and reach up along the fender to remove and replace and replace the light. If your hand is skinny its ok but you still have to work by feel without much room for the wrench. The lights are attached with cheesy sheet metal nuts. Be careful not to over tighten them or you'll crack the housing of your new light.
