I have an'05 ZX4, 5 speed manual. It has 216000 on the clock. It has been a very reliable, trouble free car. Couple of days ago, after work I got in and pushed the clutch pedal down to start the car and heard a "snap" sound. Drove home without issue. A couple of days later I noticed oil on the floor mat. Car still drives ok. Been told it is an issue with the slave cylinder. Is this true? What kind of repair cost am I looking at?

If fluid on driver side floor then you have a bad clutch master cylinder.
that fluid is brake fluid.
the part is cheap and replacement of part is easy easy.
Was the first thing I replaced on my car.

Its literally a bolt and two c clips.
If you are going to perform the repair then you're gonna need a helper as you will need to bleed the clutch.

If you see oil on your floor mat that would be the master cylinder. The slave cylinder is at the clutch end while the master is at the pedal end.
