What would be common points to check if the dash is flickering, speedometer drops briefly, abs warning light flickers. The abs is normally on solid orange because I have the abs sensor removed in a wheel with a non working abs magnet/ring. The car hasn't stopped running but it flickers very quickly and one of the relays under the steering wheel area is clicking away. It did this before when my oil low pressure switch started leaking. Really odd but I hope this is common so folks can suggest where to check. I could run some additional ground wires (to where though?), to see if that prevents it. The bad part is it isn't consistent so who knows when it will appear again.

Grounds from the negative battery terminal to the fender must be clean and tight. Another ground under the airbox. Alternator electrical connector should be replaced if original. Helps to have a voltmeter handy if you have an old car. Good battery is 12.65 volts although the car will start at 12.4 or so. Running you should see 13.6 to 14.3 volts. Another thing to look at is the pcv hose coming out of the back of the intake manifold. It can cause a low idle stalling problem. Battery light will come on when the engine struggles to idle, especially as you are off the throttle and coming to a stop.

The ground for the instrument cluster is inside behind the rh kickpanel above the inertia/fuel cutoff switch. Other possible fixes are to remove the cluster and clean the printed circuit board with alcohol. Ive also seen foci clusters go wonky from humidity, a good clue it needs cleaning.Good luck. I
