02 Ford Focus SVT ABS and Traction Light on after startup

My 02 Focus SVT sits a lot of the time (39k miles) and I try to drive 1-2 times a week. However, I have noticed that after it sitting the ABS and Traction Control disabled light will illuminate after starting and stay on. After driving it around the block turning the car off and then turning it back on it will stay off.

What is up with that? Possible problems?

I did some searching and now I'm even more confused. I don't understand why it would go off and not come back on but if I let it sit a few days it comes back on..
