Haha all true points! I might go to the open end filter later on when I decide to change my intake. Thanks for the input!

When you decide to change your filter (if ever), you might wanna look at the Wix Air Filter. I had a K&N and I was not very happy with it when I discovered that after no more than 15 000 miles (less than 20 000km) I had to "oil it" already. 80 $ for that ?!!? (yes, to have it in Canada this is the cost). So, I switch over the Wix 49017 and I don't feel any difference at all between it and the K&N. I drove my car with the OEM filter for three month after I changed the K&N, and between the OEM filter and the Wix, there is a big difference, just like when using the K&N.

P.S. It fits great in the airbox.

Why do you say that you have to clean it every 15k miles? K&N's website says that under normal conditions it should last at least 50k miles between cleanings: K&N FAQ

I actually had the wix filter previously(still have it sitting in my garage). I noticed a difference in the k&n and wix. With the k&n the car just feels more lively. Maybe that's just my butt dyno lol. I have been happy with the k&n so far and if I ever have problems I can go back to the wix. Plus I only payed like 35 for my k&n. Thanks for the insight!
