TB replacement?

Hey guys I want to boost my mpg on a 2000 ZETEC with 240k+ what size TB can I go up to, and any idea how much? Also how do I find a CAI that fits so I can get rid of the noisy lunch box under my hood, (hell it makes more noise than my exhaust)?

Changing TB on one of those will not increase mileage and engine likely too old anyway, no ring seal from worn engine is what lowers mileage.

The zetec TB is a weird one that actually chokes the intake at low throttle openings (below about 1/3 or so) on purpose and the fuel map is matched to how that choke action works, modding to make for more air flow makes the car tend to bog pulling up off a stop unless you work the software over, or a tune. BTDT.

The stock airbox makes little noise unless the snap-in resonator block to driver side has been removed, a CAI likely will make more noise than the box. Unless it is totally baffled and then defeating the purpose doing that.

Of course, yours and do what you will.
Fix the driver first, then fixing the car becomes so much easier..........
