Since you just replaced the plugs, why didn't you replace the cap/rotor? btw did you see a distributor? How about replacing the dual points & condensor?

Your Ford doesn't stock those anymore. Your best substitute is a left-hand threaded smoke shifter. The OEM ones from the dealerships were made of high impact calcium but the only choice is aftermarket ones made of unobtainium.

Thanks All for the in site as to NEVER left any ONE of you work on my WIFES car. Im old school and haven't really looked under a newer hood engine for some time I/WE had single up thru electric sensor distrib. back in the day I ran a SELF built 289 auto in a Pinto SW. Now the drill. I replaced the COIL PACK with Ecklin Napa part. WAS also advised they get hot from head mounting position from Ford. Can cause a just notable light miss. Sound about right Bet they have to be grounded to the head or else you could isolate it for heat. Sensor pack has head temp sensor in? OK greased tightened with L hand muffler wrench. Repacked to cherry bombs match book adjusted the points both of them. Sounds fine!! Yo Limeyrider I have Pingle electric button operated transmition shifter On my 124/Dyna. Way more fun then this Focus !!

The combination of words and use of punctuation is making my head hurt.

Are you asking for honest help?

Your thread made me laugh, even though they tried to make you the scape goat, it didn't work. I like old school myself, but the Focus is fun. I have a 2000 ZETEC ZX3 myself w/5 on the floor. It's a learning experience. My Focus has done some really strange things, that as a technician, even I can't explain, lol.

FYI, the coilpacks there change more often than the plugs do. They overheat due to themselves and not head, any fine hairline crack in one and it is dead.
