FORD Dealer wants $14.69 for each Lower Oil Pan bolt Are there any substitutes?

Doing the lower oil pan on my 2002 SVT and a few of the bolts are rusted up enough that I cannot get a socket on them. I'll be cutting a slot in the head and removing them with a flat head screw drivier.

Here's the issue, the dealer is saying each bolt is $14.69

Even the parts guy had a good laugh at that price.

Does anybody have a suggestion on where to find an acceptable replacement bolt? These bolts must be special at that price. They are the little black ones.

I'll post a pic if that helps.

So far the best idea I have is removing some other bolts from a car at a wrecker, but it might be hard as most of the cars are right on the ground.

Or does anybody have some in good condition they can sell me?

Find the pitch and length and just buy some generic replacements. I doubt theyre that unique

Have you tried looking at rock auto or other part suppliers?

Yes I checked rockauto. I can't pull up anything online that lists the bolts. All I get is the drain plug bolt or the actual oil pan itself.

Guess I'll have to get the dealer to give up the part # bc it doesn't list the bolts on any of the parts fiches I found online.

All you need is one bolt out to go to the hdwe. to match them.

I know factory prices can be silly, but I bet in this case it's a price for a pkg. of bolts & somehow the quantity isn't showing when they look 'em up.

Figure out the size, then get some stainless bolts from McMaster.com (or local non-chain hardware store)

This makes sense to me now.

I bet for the $14.66 price it's the complete set of bolts. I might just get the dealer to order it in and check.
