If you were to remove the whole hump, the grille are air would deflect off the underside of the hood...no lack of turbulence there. I figured by leaving the front of the hump in place, the air coming up from the grille would at least get some direction toward the snorkel openning. Ultimately, a Euro grill and cover would be the best set up....but i'm not shelling out for those lights....just won't do it.

Removing the hump part is basically the same but he put a hole on the back of his resonator and ran a hose to the cowl.

Hello all,
Newbie here, just picked up my 2004 Euro SVT 5 door today. Cost $19,200 out the door since people seem interested. I was thinking along the lines you guys have done and was lucky to find this thread So when I look at your pics and at my engine...I'm thinking I don't have a resonator??? Check out the picture and let me know what you guys think.

The SVT has a different piece. I could be wrong, but I'm quite sure it is removable. Chances are it is the same opening as the stock Focus.

HRW,
My mistake, I thought yours was a SVT. Really nice work on the mod. Am I correct in thinking that the hose connects to the air box where the snorkle was? The other end of the hose just stops at the hood line (not connected to anything)?

I just removed the whole plastic piece that the hump is part of, allows more air flow into the motor compartment thus more heat disipation in the motor compartment. I drive in the rain and rally my car off road, no probs with dust or water. I also run a K&N ram air intake on it as well so removing the piece made for more cold air for the intake. nice numbers on the hrw mod thou.
