SVT Timing belt tensioner pulley

Well I worked on my timing belt. I have a question about the new pulleys. The new one didn't come with a spring mechanism like stock one did. Just the pulley and a washer. It doesn't look like the stock spring assembly doesn't remove from the stock pulley tensioner?

How is the new pulley suppose to put tension on the belt? Did AZ give me the wrong pulley kit? Sucks I had to pay $100 for a kit and then also only use 2 of the 3 pulleys

I think they gave you the 'generic' Focus kit. I got the kit with the spring loaded tension pulley. I also got very worried that the tension indicator also floats after being torqued.

The Gates kit is no. TCK294A. It has one extra pulley since it fits other 2.0 engines.

Yeah. I'm going to take it back apart and take the parts back. I'm going to be out of town again all week and was wanting to take my car to North Carolina next week but I guess that's not going to happen.

Should have left my tbelt on. I was amazed how it still looked new. Zero cracks or tears.

If you have the miles replace it. Looks alone are NOT keeping it together. If you're going to be in Raleigh, Winston-Salem or anywhere between on I-40, PM me and we'll get a coffee. I have a NEW, never run belt for half price (needed some pulleys and could not return the open package) if you need it..
