I’m having a problem now. the transmission fault light came on after getting a jump start from my battery dying. Car has been fine for two years. I don’t even know how to fix it

My only issue so far has been the navigation being inaccurate. I had a software update done yesterday and so far so good - (fingers crossed)

I had an '04 SVT for 12 years and it definitely had its share of problems but as people have pointed out, its cheap and fairly easy to work on this car.

The only two that really bothered me were:

1. The one time it died in traffic, the alternator was dead and there was no warning light to let us know. Our mechanic had replaced the battery a few days before so we thought the issue was solved, but it conked out on my wife crossing the American Legion bridge, hugely stressful place to get stranded.

2. The oil pan rusted out, I've never seen that one before.

Tailgate electric lock handle does not work except in summer (remote works fine)
Thermostat has been replaced twice (first spare was malfunctional right from the start)
Head gasket was replaced due to a seeping water leak

2010 Ford Focus 107,000 miles. Passenger rear wheel bearing seized to spindle. Change your fluids and keep your car clean. It will take care of you.

2013 with ~100K miles. The door/lid on my sun visor recently fell off. That's it so far.

Edit: 110K+ miles. Passenger motor mount apparently failed. Ordered an OEM replacement.

2005, rusted out doors and rocker panels, bought in 2006, drove it ten years. CD player broke after 10 years, and the airbag system shows an error (probably the passenger seat sensor).

2015 SE hatchback, bought 2016 from Hertz, got 56K miles now. The air conditioner shut off a couple times (software glitch). Powersh!t tranny just can't figure out how to go from 2-3. Outside of that, it's the perfect car.
