They kept telling me it was normal, sometimes would do a re-flash and re-learn. I got sick of complaining and just decided to live with it. Last Friday, the check engine light came on and the tranny would engage and disengage over and over again, the car rolled to a stop with the tach bouncing around. Had it towed to the dealer... they said they *could've* fixed it (leaky seal, oil leak to the clutch)... 60 days ago when my 14M01 window EXPIRED. I called Ford cust service, they said there was nothing they could do. I asked for a supervisor to call me back... nothing yet. Anyone have experience with pushing this through???

After the last 7 years I've spent with this car, I'd rather drive it off a cliff at this point than pay $3k to fix the transmission that both I *and* they knew was defective. This might be the last Ford I ever buy...
If you don't get anywhere with them, convert it to a manual. That's what I'm doing and mine still drives.

I thought I'd do the same but I ended up shelling out the $2k+ to repair it because I'm not tryna have another new car payment nor am I willing to pay $10k+ for a slightly used car with similar or worse features.

I'm just a shadetree mechanic if that's what you're asking. However, I have researched this and others in this forum have done it and at least partially documented it. I have almost everything I need and I'm still under $500 in parts. Most of it came from a single doner vehicle at a salvage yard not too far from where I live so I was able to pick it up in person. It was important to do so because even though I gave them a detailed list of what I wanted, they left out a couple of things that I could make sure I had before I left. I'm planning on doing the swap over Thanksgiving.

I've never been so mad as a consumer before.. or just felt flat taken advantage of. This is why Ford stock is $9/share... and when the company folds for good, if Uncle Sam don't bail them out first, I'll laugh all the way home in my Subaru.

Yup - exactly what I was wondering. Same situation here, but I guess that's where I draw the line!

I'm planning on doing all of my suspension work myself this year... but I better hurry up before it's too cold for my unheated, unattached garage.

Hello. I can't real 222 pages so quick question.

I have a 2013 that I bought in October 2012 and is about 92,000 miles. Ford dealer put in a new clutch under warranty 10,000 miles ago, but it is already failing. Now it seems I am over the 7 year extension.

This is a major drag as I bought this car to keep 10-15 years and feel like I either have to start spending $1500 for a clutch every 10,000 miles or sell it and take the loss or see if Ford will replace it for free even though it is just beyond 7 years.

What are the odds that Ford will cover it outside of their extension?

When did you have the new clutch put in? You are outside the extension but if the work was done less than a year ago, you still have the one-year warranty on the work. When I was getting close to the end of my extended coverage and my third replacement was being put in, I asked the dealer about this and the one-year warranty is what they came back with. I wasn't able to take advantage of it, however, as it was just over a year when it started acting up again.

When you swap to a 5 speed and you keep the stock PCM / ECU my Custom Tune will help get past the limiter because the PCM doesnt see the TCM any more

On a side note my Custom Tune improves the shudder issues and has cured it on many MK3 Foci
