Hi Kenny,

Please send me a private message with your VIN, mileage, best daytime phone number, full name, and dealer name/location. I'll look into this.

I was going thru a McDonalds drive thru when I heard it. LOL

2014 Titanium, build date 8/15/2013 so outside range of 14M01 extension if I understand correctly, so I would have thought I had later seals and rev D clutch?

8,815 miles - I have had all of the grinding sounds, rattling and hesitation on starts and during passing for about 1,500 miles. Yesterday I removed bottom cover with car on lift in my garage, noticed oil leak (seems slick so I'm guessing oil vs. inhibitor, but we'll see) at bellhousing. Also have significant (1 qt in about last 1,000 miles) oil leak now going on around timing cover - but that's another thread I'm sure.

Scheduled to go to dealer on 8/25 so we'll see how this goes...

Just dropped my car off to have the clutches replaced. My car is a Nov 2011 build and it has been mostly trouble-free. Only have very sporadic shuddering and grinding. Decided to go ahead and have the dealer check it out with the warranty extension and new parts announced.

I got a 2013 SE as a loaner and I can definitely feel a difference in the transmission. There is less hesitation, shifts seem more direct and it was quieter overall. Hope my car turns out the same way or better. Going on a 9-hour road trip this weekend so it won't take long to break-in. Will report back after I have some seat time with the new parts.

Correct: Focus Fanatics > Ford Focus Third Generation > MK3 Focus > 2012 valve cover gasket leak

It's also possible that the clutches were affected by a leak from the rear main seal instead of/in addition to leaking transmission seals, which might account for some of that lost 1 qt.

Focus Fanatics > Ford Focus Third Generation > MK3 TSB, Recall & Problems Archive > DCT issue/ Rear Main Seal

I got a letter from Ford today about the extension. I thought it was new news, but apparently I'm a month late since I didn't see this thread.

At any rate, it came just in time, as I'm now among the affected. A couple months ago, the transmission began exhibiting strange behavior that has gotten progressively worse, culminating in the excessive low speed shudder indicated in the letter. The vehicle is still drivable, but I'm going to be calling the nearest Ford dealer tomorrow.

Kudos to Ford for stepping up and addressing the problem though.

Dropped off my car at the dealership today, first thing in the AM. In the drop-off queue were two other Foci, also there for DPS6 trouble. The service writer said they do about 3 per day. That's got to be a pretty high cadence for a non-recall.

The guy from the rental car place had one of the other cars in the queue.

Fingers crossed!

Just wanted to say thank you to everybody for the information! I've been experiencing this issue with my 2013 Focus, and my sister has been experiencing it with her 2013 Fiesta.. Needless to say, this post (and the huge 309 page post) has been very helpful!

Edit: Oh man, I just saw my old Split Port Focus is still my avatar and my '03 PZEV is referenced in my sig.. Haven't been on here in quite some time.
