LOL yeah, that's a commonly cited "solution".

Unfortunately that only works for some models. My 2014 SE only has P, R, N, D, and L available. No S for me.

I'm new and still making my way around, I didn't know that was a commonly cited solution.. good to know, though!

thanks for the info.

"L" for lower speeds/taking off from a stop helps for some, similar to using "S" on takeoff/lower speeds.

Either way you need to bump it out of S or L for higher speeds/cruising to use all gears.

I had the tech ride with me so he could feel what I was feeling and he mentioned misfire. But the computer doesn't show anything. They called technical support but because no one else has reported this issue, they don't have a "fix". Logically if my car is the only one having this issue, then there is something wrong with my car! I am very frustrated. They suggested that I change my driving habits, so I tried that this morning and I still have the issue. I have an hour commute one way every day in stop and go traffic, so I get this stutter 99% of time. It makes me want to run the car off a cliff.
My 2016 SE is doing this. I really hope my dealer fixes this or I got F'd hard by Ford

Exclamation Acceleration Problem

For the third time, I have had a problem with my 2010 Ford Focus not being able to accelerate while in moving traffic. What's the problem ? This vehicle only has 70,000 miles. I feel that this is a dangerous vehicle. Someone can be killed by a problem of this issue. Is there a recall for this issue ? If not, There should be, Before someone does get killed.

I bought my 2014 Ford Focus SE sedan in June of this year from a VW lot. Through out the months from I bought it, it was having the same problem. Knowing for us that money was tight, I just let it slide. It does make a long waining noise at 3km then drops down to 2 and acts like normal. At stop, she will shudder a lot if I gun her but if I slowly give her gas she wont shudder as much. I've actually tried to as most mechanics will say, when I watch some videos, is that you have to "train" your car or "learn" how it's tranny works in order to drive it. As it's not a major concern, I just feel bad for a cute little sporty car who can't work properly.

My 2012 Focus having the same issue recently, jerking when start off like clutch issue of connecting the gears. Its like I release the clutch to fast on manual transmission. Is it a damage auto clutch or mechanical issue?

I still haven't got it fixed yet. Don't have the money to do it.
