Dead APIM Module. Can I get any MyFordTouch/Sync 2 Module from any Ford Vehicle?

I have seen some on eBay from other Ford's, or does it have to be a Focus?

Do I need to get the VIN programmed?

I just have a black screen right now, VIN programmed ones online are around $500

It probably wouldn't be any more expensive to get an aftermarket setup. Bonus that it would be better in almost every way.

I have a spare Sync 2 APIM+Screen I'm willing to part with, if you're interested.

Send me a PM and I can answer any questions.

I have taken an APIM from another car and installed it in my focus.
You can but you will need to:
1) Change the hex code in FORscan to match your car
2) Go into the setup menu and calibrate the touch screen.

I had the same problem with mine a few months back where it was dead for a week and was looking into purchasing a replacement. Not for nothing, but have you tried pulling the fuse and letting it sit 5 minutes? I did that under the most pessimism and was shocked that it actually brought it back to life.

For Forscan programming, do I use an OBD2 adapter, or a USB Directly into the APIM?

Odb2 (preferably usb) and an advanced license of forscan
