Has anyone changed the high beams to LED?

I'm not sure if it's possible considering the bulb design. It's that bracket that holds the bulb in place and all these after market bulbs look like the heat sink would block that. Does anyone know how to do it?

I'm very curious, I swapped out the headlight and fog light H11s and was so impressed I ordered a set of RGB H1s for the high beams. I was in total disbelief when I opened up the housing and saw the mount for the H1 bulbs. Never seen anything like it. Really Ford, was it too hard to just use H11s for both sets of lights? Or even a normal H1 style clip...

Some people online swear they swapped them, but I don't see how. I even had trouble with the H11s because of the lack of room to jam everything in. I had to use error cancelers for the H11s, so I needed extra room. I'd love to switch the H1s, but I don't want to waste my time if they're not going to fit.

I think I found a solution but since I just joined and only have these two posts I cannot post links of pic... Argh... I spent about two hours yesterday trying to figure it out and Amazon and ebay have adapters they say work. I could only find a couple of picture of how they clip on the bulb housing and think I understand how they work. I know my bulbs heat syncs are going to be in the way and I will need to dremel some of them away to clear the mounting rails on the light housing. I could probably dremel off some of the rails faster but would rather modify a $50 set of bulbs than a set of $300 headlight assemblies... As soon as I can post links and pics I will. I will most likely have the adapters and get them installed first... Stay tuned.

Yeah I can post pics... So these are the adapters:

If you're going to keep the car long-term, the headlight assemblies on Ebay are very reasonably priced. I changed mine at one point, but my wife hated the way they looked so I sent them back. I loved it, but she drove the car, so I couldn't keep it. They were like $150 or so.

I was looking at them and liked the smoked/black ones with U-HALO DRL LEDs they have with the dual projectors, then I noticed that the bulb types were H7 bulbs. It would be around $500 by the time I was done and just don't want to part with that right now. Maybe later, they do have a very aggressive look to them... For now I'm going to try these adapters and hope for the best. I will document and post pics whenever the forum allows me to do so...

Also planning to swap out the steering wheel at some point with an Escape Titanium/sport package wheel. From what I have researched it should be a direct replacement with no modification on my car...

Regards,

Michael

The Lights I used were Katana H11s. I needed to use extended covers on the back of the housings but they work perfect!

I used Cougarmotor h11s. They're not as bright as others but they last really long time, and look perfect. They're also quiet. I've had others in both my cars and they start getting noisy, or they just don't look right. I could swear these are brighter than the 9600lm ones I had before.

As for those h7s you posted, I'm not sure if those work with h1, but assuming they do there's no way that would fit in the housing for the stock Focus. Those aftermarket units look nice. The good thing about the Focus is it has a harness that plugs into the assembly. When I did it for my Rav4 I had to get a wire that converted the stock bulb size to the size the assembly had, which is just about the dumbest thing I've seen.

I did. MAKE SURE YOU PURCHASE RESISTORS!!! I made the initial mistake of not ordering them and could use my LEDs.

The two sets I already installed didn't need resistors, they worked perfect...
