Rear Defroster Not Working

Hi All,

The rear defroster on my '13 Focus has stopped working. I got a new rear window after damaging the defroster lines from removing window tint incorrectly.

Instead of purchasing a new window right away, I purchased an aftermarket defroster kit for vehicles that do not have factory defrosters. The kit worked by placing adhesive copper lines on the window, much in the same way a factory system is installed. I figured I would save some cash doing this, but I was wrong.

I have a feeling that this aftermarket defroster system may have blown a fuse or burned out the rear defroster relay. I tested the window with a multi-meter and found everything in working order, but I do not have 12V at the rear defroster terminals on the window.

I looked in the owner's manual for the defroster fuse location, but did not see any reference to a fuse for it. Anyone know where that fuse or relay is located?

Thanks in advance!

There are 3 fuse panels on the focus (some only have 2 installed). There is one in the passenger side foot well area next to the cabin air filter location, one under the hood in front of the battery, and optionally one in the trunk) Hatch area on the driver's side. Behind a small rectangular panel. Relay would most likely be under the hood but the fuse could be in either internal panels.
2012 Focus SE 5MT, ingot silver metallic. Window tint, focal wheels, lots of chrome bits.
