Goodwill gesture from Ford?

Greetings everyone - I recently posted on here about my 2016 SE getting a new engine due to a failure of the vacuum pump (the pump disintegrated and sent metal shards into the engine and turbo). Engine got replaced under powertrain warranty. The dealership has had my car for about a month now, and they keep finding things that have been damaged as a result of the failure. Last week, I finally got a call that the engine and turbo was installed and all that was left was to gas it up and test drive. Well, the porter left the car running at the pump, and the wind caught the door, locking the key in the car while it was running. Long story short, the car ran out of gas, and when they were able to fill it up, they couldn't get it started, and now it's throwing codes that they haven't seen before. The techs are waiting on Ford engineers to tell them how next to proceed, and what these codes mean, because they have exhausted their expertise. Through all of this, I lodged a complaint with Ford customer relations, and the Regional Customer Relations Manager called me today. I basically explained to him that I don't want the car back due to all these problems, and what guarantee do I have that this won't happen again? I'm fortunate that there was no vehicle immediately in front of me when these failures occurred, because I most definitely would have eaten the dashboard, or worse. He explained to me that my vehicle doesn't meet the Lemon Law criteria in Texas, (don't even get me started on that) and that they would wait for the repairs to be completed, and then Ford would probably do a "goodwill gesture". Has anyone else had experience with this, and if so, what can I expect? If it's like a year's worth of oil changes or something like that, I'm NOT interested. Don't get me wrong, I've loved my Focus up to this point, but maybe I just got one bad one out of the batch, and I really don't want it back due to safety concerns.

Does the car keep throwing these codes?
When i accidently stalled mine out at a toll booth one time(boots stuck between carpet and dash caused me to dump clutch with brake on) it threw codes, check engine light stayed on and couldnt get auto start/stop to work untill i cleared them with a code reader. I dont recall what codes it was 3 years ago.
Everything went back to normal and when i took it to ford for inspection i asked them if codes were still present from it and they said no.
I read your thread on your vacuum pump situation and hope you get compensated propery.
Nothing sucks the joy out of new car ownership like serious problems.

The service technicians read the codes and have no idea what they mean, so they contacted engineers in Detroit to help.

For me, Ford's goodwill was to cover 1/3 of the cost of both LCA and top plates replacement out of warranty. Funny, they replaced one of the LCA 14 months after under warranty.

I say this because if you pay 1 penny out of a 5000$ for example (because of goodwill, dealer, etc) the full 2 years, unlimited mileage apply to the repair.

So, update on this whole situation....The "New" engine they installed was "defective". I was told that the new pistons weren't creating any combustion or something like that. I don't want this vehicle back, so I'm communicating with Ford corporate, as well as the General Manager for the dealership, in the hopes they will at least use their "good will gesture" to give me a couple thousand on top of the trade in value on a different Ford vehicle.

Read up on the lemon law... you might be able to get them to buy it back.

Looking at TX lemon laws, you're not covered past 24 months. Unless you retain a lawyer, they may just put another engine in it (w/warranty) and send you on your way.

From what I've read, the 1 liter ecoboost motor has been a little problematic for Ford. If you can get rid of it, find a 2.0L manual transmission focus and enjoy years and years of trouble free operation and miles of smiles.

I haven't heard of any issues with the 1L ecoboost [version that the US got at least.] The RS and F150 ones yea.
