Cluster swap

My focus came with the 2.5” monochrome display, I’ve read some posts about someone doing a swap with the 4” cluster. I was wondering if this swap is actually possible. I was looking at getting a replacement because my screen is really dark almost black, and I was looking at doing the upgraded screen if it was possible. I would also hope to get some instructions on how it would be possible. I was also hoping to hear if there were pros and cons of this swap. Over the last few years I’ve used this site though only just created an account for installing cruise on a non cruise equipped vehicles, and removing my key using focccus with only one key. I’m hoping for some guidance, any help is appreciated!

Yes, it can be swapped. I've swapped mine almost a year ago, and it's way better than the monochrome one!

It's plug and play, except for the fact the mileage needs to be changed. If you get a cluster with lower mileage than your car, you can use Focccus to increase it. Also, the cluster is where the backup bootloader is, so change it to your car's settings.

Got mine from a wrecked 2013 SEL I believe with the DCT transmission, and worked fine on my 5 speed. The only thing that didn't work is the warning when you try to start the car without pressing the clutch pedal, but I can live without it.

may be wrong, pretty sure focccus can reset the mileage to 0 or increase it

so if it has more you would have to reset it to 0 before you can increase it to what it needs to be

I am also interested to do this swap. Can someone confirm that with focccus you can change the mileage even if it is greater than the actual value. Maybe a screenshot of the exact screen where you do this change with focccus.

For mileage, focccus has a set and reset button, if it's under then set, if it's over reset then set

As far as I know (by reading on the internet) you can only increase the mileage but not decrease. I didn't find any reference on the internet about decrease or reset to 0. In FOCCCUS on the IPC tab in the Oddo section there are only two buttons "Read" and "Set" bunt not reset.
So I understood that I have to find an used cluster but with a lower mileage that mine.
