Headlight switch assembly fell out

Anyone have this happen? I go to turn on my headlights and the lower trim part pulls out along with the whole switch assembly? How does this happen? I'm not even tall enough to hit my knees on it. The only way it gets touched is when I turn on the headlights (which is rare because I always have the switch on auto) or pop the trunk.

Looked again and it seems the trim is broken and used to be one piece.

Looks like a job for JB Weld until you can find a suitable replacement from a doner car. I woudl try to remove the trim piece and epoxy it back together, reinforcing it from the back side. The good thing is that JB weld cures in about the same color.
