Skipping chattering wipers FIXED

Hello! Scott here, I’m new to the forum. Ever since I purchased my 17 Focus ST the wiper blades would skip and chatter. Sometimes even get stuck! I’ve seen this issue is somewhat common with Focus’ and Escapes, yet I hadn’t seen a remedy. The dealer tried replacing my blades, reprogramming the wiper motor basic settings, but neither helped. RainX wouldn’t make a difference either. Factory blades are 28 inches, and I found that the skipping seems to occur near the ends of the blades. Possibly the 28’s were a little much for the motors to handle... So I installed some 26 inch Michelin’s and the skipping is completely gone! I would assume other brands would work as well. And the visibility isn’t affected from a shorter blade. Barely noticeable. Hope this helps!
