Lightbulb ST Traction Control button on non-ST

Has anyone installed the traction control button from an ST on their 15+ base-model mk3? I really hate having to go into the menu just to turn traction control off and was wondering if anyone else has attempted to install the button. Plus those credit card holders are stupid.

I don't see a separate harness listed for the T/C button so I'm assuming to even attempt this I'd have to switch out the whole damn wiring harness, but figured I'd ask to see if it's been done.

Thanks!

First of all, just to inform you that I am from EU.

About 8 months ago I bought the center console from a 2016 focus ST (second hand). I used some parts that I wanted to, and I though, why not to use the traction control button as well?

Console came with the harness, so I replaced my harness with the ST harness.. So far it doesn't work. I didn't change anything on focccus or forscan and I didn't check the extra wire/wires of the new harness if they were not connecting to anything at all.

I want to check it out sometime, but don't hold your breath.

P.S Previously I had only one button to enable/disable auto start/stop. Now I have auto start/stop (which works great), and the traction control (which it doesn't)

I would assume the ECU or BCM would need to be flashed to get it to work, just like when installing factory foglights.

I ordered my parts yesterday and hopefully I ordered the correct wiring harness for the switch.

Before you had the ST center console were you able to go in through the menu on your instrument cluster to turn off the traction control?

Yes, I can enable/disable traction control through the menu from the steering wheel.

For your information, I already had the auto start/stop button in my car

and then I purchased the console from the ST which also included this

the new harness was also included with the console. Harness was slightly different than the one that I already had.
I could try to find out the part number of the harness if you want.

In FOCCCUS I am not quite sure which value I should change (I checked and didn't find anything regarding traction control)

Well I got the parts in today. From what I have concluded is that to actually get the switch to work you'd need the whole ST dash wiring harness for the vehicle.

Personally I don't feel like paying $200 and ripping out my dash just to get this switch in, so it's gonna be a no-go for me lol.

Not quite sure which harness you mean.
Didn't you order the harness as well?

I ordered what I thought might be the correct harness, but neither of them were the correct ones.

Skimmed through ford's part site through the wire loom section. Bought it on ebay for $27, it's ~$40 new from Ford's site. Also bought the button for $28. Harness wires line up with pins.
You don't need the whole dash harness.

Wire harness: G1ET-15K857-AHB (Focus ST)

Buuut, I'm waiting for my E-Spec Cup holders to come in to install the harness.
Estimated delivery is beginning of February.
I have a 2016 Focus.

Mike Johnson from RDC was working on this, there was a few parts that needed to be swapped out and it's definitely lot more work to get it to work...pity a TC button was not available, my 1996 Pontiac Sunfire had one for crying out loud. :)

It does NOT work. We have swapped in the button and wired as it would be on an ST, no work, swapped in an ST ABS module and sti a NO GO.... from what we have concluded, youll need an ST PCM and BCM to make it works and those dont work unless you have an ST engine.
