I bought my 2012 Ti in June of 2013, and I just rolled over 103,000 miles. I have a manual transmission, and I've had ZERO mechanical issues. I've done my oil changes on regular intervals, and replaced anything that needed to be replaced as it wore out (i.e. brakes, tires, etc.). I'm still extremely impressed with my Focus, and I'm confident it will go another 100,000 miles no sweat! :D

Rule #1 in the forums: Never talk about oil change unless you want a heated debate.

I never know why it gets heated.

This and a few other topics cause some people to get all huffy. The people who are wrong should just accept being wrong, keep doing what they are doing even though it is wrong, and move on with life.

I'm not going to say who is wrong because they know who they are (and they have little stickers on their windshield to prove it).

I mean, there is free speech, but people should know when to put a sock in it.

Well, on one hand you have one group of people who may be told they are wasting money, and then you have another group of people who are told they are abusing their cars. So either way someone is left feeling like they aren't doing the right thing.

That's exactly what I think. It's their money and time, I don't get why people get all mad for oil change.

I change it every 5000 miles or once a year whatever comes first. Don't like oil in the engine longer than that. Plus Ford paid for the 1st 4 years of changes.

I only put about 3k on the 4Runner and Subi so they just get the once a year change period.

And 1 mile round trip commute and other short trips necessitates not going too long on the same oil.
