Only able to vote once - but now on my second MK3. First was the '12 Sterling Grey Ti, now in a '14 Platinum White Ti.

I have had my 2014 ford focus SE hatch for almost a year now and put 18,xxx miles on it and so far everything is great. Drives good and havnt had any of the transmission issues yet! (Knock on wood) the only complaint is that I wish the ground clearance was a little better on it. In the winter all the ice chunks in the road and salt clumps hit my undercarriage because of the low ride height. But that isn't a problem more of an observation.

2012 Titanium DCT. I could only in good conscience recommend the manual. I have not experience issues with the transmission, just some of the characteristics of it I find highly annoying, particularly the delay in response on stand still from sudden inputs, and overtaking moves. EDIT: Just to note that transmission refused to engage first gear and it cost me 5000 dollars to get it replaced, Ford offered no help whatsoever in either diagnosis/technical assistance and told me outright that because I was a second owner they wouldn't help me. Consider who you want to give your money to.

Engine power 'seem's poor only due to the annoying transmission that numbs response.

On the flip side, I like the fact it's auto and generally makes my stop/start traffic issue free.

I am VERY happy with build quality, ride, comfort, tech, safety, entertainment, with the exception of the NAV system could be better (although I believe an update may resolve this).

I would recommend that car, just not the DCT.

Hit 3 years of ownership in May, just rolled over 24,000 miles and outside a center screen computer update as the only issue my wife and I are very happy with the car.

I am a lifetime (35 year+) Ford driver: '66 Mustang, '76 Capri, '86 Ranger, '86 Escort, '67 Mustang, '95 Ranger, '96 Ranger, '01 Explorer, '07 Focus, '01 Explorer, and now a '12 Titanium. By far my Focus is my favorite car (the other vehicle in my stable is a BMW, and I prefer the Focus), but I regularly think of selling it, taking the money & updating an '01 Explorer with 2015 equipment. And I only think about doing this because I wonder about the long-term health of my DCT package. The Mk3 could have been a truly great car, but the DCT keeps it from that status. And apparently, 4 years haven't got the problems solved. I would like to keep this car for 250K miles, and with the exception of the DCT I think it can, but the DCT makes wonder about that goal. Too bad - I think the MK3 could've been a world-class car.
