whp only goes so far. My 05 should weigh about 500-600 pounds less (2650 vs 3100-3200) and we already have numbers on the FSW stage 2 turbo on a D20. Its good for mid to high 5s to 60 and mid to high 13s in the quarter. The new ST is going to be slower than that. Dont care about any of the rest to be honest. However, if I DID want to upgrade those things, I could easily do it and still be WELL under the price of a new ST and have a better looking, 3 door hatch turbo Focus

Posted via FF Mobile So you dont care about how your putting that power to the ground...or how your cars going to handle at those higher speeds....or how your going to stop all that extra horsepower. Even the guys from fast and the furious know balance is important.

And mbell ive said this many times already, the current ST runs 0-60 in 6 seconds...why the hell would the more powerful and advanced new ST not be any faster??????

You have a link to those current ST times? So you think the new ST is going to run Mitsubishi Evo times for $10k less? Sorry, but you are dreaming. Its going to do MS3 numbers.

You make a fool of yourself here, the MS3 does 0-60 in 5.6-5.9 according to various tests. You are hilarious.

P.S he's referring to the previous generation Focus ST from Europe, which this car replaces...

As for getting your car to the level of the ST.

Exhaust
FSWerks stage 2 kit
You'll need an SVTF rear brake conversion
Brembo front brakes
17's with stickier rubber
New shocks/springs/sways
A torsen, stage 2 clutch and flywheel
Full EAP interior
STS
All the major motor mounts.

Touch screen in dash, with bluetooth, and mobile phone connection, and upgraded mids etc. (Ipod hook up too.)
Xenon headlights that look factory

Then go buy a full warranty that is as good as Ford's and doesn't rip you off, and you still aren't there.

As I said, dont care about the silly extras. When I am finished with my ZX3, it will be putting down around 250whp. The ST will be making less, maybe 215-220whp. Then factor in my weight advantage and I will be a good second faster than an ST and in a better looking (IMO) car If I were to spend $25-$28k on some 4 door, station wagon looking car, it would be the new WRX. Dont like the look of the Focus and its just stupid not to have a 3 door hatch, unless they are preparing an RS type hot hatch with 300hp soon. I think it will be a nice car, just not for me

Silly parts like brakes and suspension? I guess you watch Fast and the Furious and put your hand down your pants to your Paul Walker poster every night.

You will be making more like 215-220whp with the Stage 2 duratec kit on your 2.0, 230 if you are lucky. If you push the boost far past that you'll pop it. Now with your stock clutch/flywheel, you will never put that to the ground for long. It holds to 200whp tops, and with the stupid abuse you'll put it through street racing Civics and DSMs, I would guess you'll be road side with your 4 ways on soon after.

When that happens you'll be pulling a bunch out of pocket to try to fix the car. My guess is your parents are paying for all of this, given your lack on knowledge, and disregard for supporting mods. Good luck with tow trucks.

Dude, I live 7 miles from FSWerks and I think they know what they are doing and they will be doing all the work. I am doing more than just slapping a turbo on with an exhaust. I will also be adding sway bars and suspension mods. Brembos are in my future too. About $8k total and I paid $4k for the car. So I am still spending HALF price for what a new ST will cost and I will have a faster car. Thanks for the concern though

Posted via FF Mobile Why dont you pull your head out of your rear and try reading carefully, because this is the second time youve done so with one of my posts. The current mkii focus runs 0-60 in the low 6 second range. The new st, considering its more powerful and more advanced should at least be as fast as an ms3, high 5s, my guess theyll get it out at 5.8 seconds easily. The evo runs it in 5 seconds flat...no where near the evo.
