The Jetta looks likes an A4 from a a few angles, and I'm not a particular fan of the sleepy face grill they've got going on. But, if you could get a Golf for around the same price, I'd consider it.

If you can get a Focus hatchback for around the same amount when it's released, then that's my clear winner. I do like the Cruze a bit, but the rear end still screams Aveo sedan to me.

I'm definitely not one of those people, just look at what I drive. Honestly, if I could afford a Golf diesel right now, I would have it in my driveway tomorrow. 40+ MPG, utility, and good handling? Sign me up.

I know I'm biased, but realistically speaking what other options are there? The Germans are the only ones bringing turbo diesels into this country. That's it. BMW and Mercedes are the only other companies. The only turbo diesels you're ever going to find manufactured on American soil are pickup trucks.

I would LOVE to get my hands on a diesel Euro Focus, you have nooooo idea lol. I share whynotthinkwhynot's pain. We NEED more diesel options here, specifically from domestics. But there's a certain point where you have to wake up and realize that we live in a crappy market full of outdated misconceptions. We just have to make the best of what we've got and let our wallets do the talking.

I don't own a 2010 Golf TDI either, because yeah they're way too damn expensive for me. I'd love to get one, but I know it's not happening anytime soon. Before the new Jetta was even announced, I pretty much wrote VW off completely because of their price increases. Now that they're offering something reasonably priced again, I may reconsider because otherwise I've had a wonderful experience with the company.

Brand loyalty means nothing to me. Give me something affordable, fun, and reliable. I'll gladly open my wallet if you can show me those things.

Posted via FF Mobile Lots of hate on the cruze...guess bc its a chevy and this is a ford site. Ecoboost is more then turbocharging its also direct injection and a few other things. The chevy I dont believe has direct injection. Also idk why autoblog didnt throw in that the cruze has the possiblity of the 2.0l turbo ecotec from the current cobalt ss and awd for the upciming SS model...bc thats as official as the focus performance model. And you guys are forgetting that most people dont care about how fast it is, they want fuel efficency and the cruze delievers. 40mpg hwy is not something to over look especially since thats what the smaller fiesta is rated at. And if it wasnt for that..ford would have never bothered to try to squeeze 40mpg out of the focus. You guys might knock it, personally i think it looks stylish and the inside is 100times better then the car its replacing, but Chevy and this car is very important in this market.

Btw...Focus is still winning the poll.

Some GM designs are nice, but the Cruze is not one of them. Reminds me of the Aztec. Although the interior is nice. Design wise I'd say VW is the most tasteful. I never quite got used to the new Focus. Just trying too hard. But way better than the Cruze, that's for sure.

ive seen a 2011 chevy cruze. remember, they are on sale everywhere else EXCEPT the united states. this one i saw had mexico plates on it. when you think of the cruze, think evolution of the cobalt, NOT revolution. interior still looks cheap, its still probably not much fun to drive out of the box, its not going to give anything a run for its money in this class. sorry GM :(
