Driver signs when the Lower transmission mount fails ?

Hi there !
Just replaced the top tranny mount under the batter of my MK2.5 Duratec 2.0 HE. (Auto)

Car feels great after that !
The other mount, with the oil, is pretty good so I didn't replace it.

But there's no way for me to inspect that lower dogbone type mount.
How do I know if its shot or not ?
What to look for in a torn one ?

A clunk going into either forward or reverse at dead stopped, and sometimes when you roll off and on power at highway speed you will feel it too as the engine/trans rock back and forth.

That sounds like the dogbone/lower trans mount definitely needs to be replaced. It also takes more abuse than the upper mounts, so if its never been done I'd definitely do it asap. And if you want you can buy polyurethane inserts for the stock mount. Great little mod you can do.

I will disagree I believe it's worth it. They also settle down as they age.
