2009 Highway gas mileage

During the summer up until about mid September, I would consistently get 5 l/100km on the highway (according to the instant fuel mileage) when I drove 105 km/h. Now it is usually at 6 or 7 l/100km also at 105 km/h. Why did it randomly go up? The only thing I can think of is either the winter gas blend, but I don’t know if that’s been changed over already or not. Also, it’s usually around 5 or less degrees Celsius outside now, and some say the colder air is more dense therefore there’s more drag on the car when driving highway. City driving seems unaffected.

Anyone else have any ideas?

Winter blend fuel and since it's colder your tire have probably dropped a few psi.

I filled up my tires to 38 psi and I managed to get 5 again on the highway. It seems to change between 5 and 6 a lot now while im driving when before it would always stay at 5. But I guess that'll probably be the winter blend fuel. I guess im just paranoid that theres something wrong with my car. Does anyone know when the switch to winter blend fuel is anyway? I can't seem to find anything online. I live in Manitoba, Canada.

Wait until Trump's new 15% ethanol in winter plan shows up, mileage drops for everybody to save the farmers again........

Wait a sec...

5 liters = 1.32 gallons
100 km = 62 miles and change

62/1.32 = 47 miles per gallon. What the heck?

and 105km/hr is 65mph.
you would probably get pretty good (instantaneous) mileage if you drove that speed too.

It doesn't give me a decimal after the 5. So when it says 5 it's really doing about 5.7-5.9. I looked online and I don't know why this car is only rated for like 35mpg when in summer I would consistently get about 40 mpg.
