Horn not working and airbag light is on in 2009 Focus

The horn doesn't work when I press the horn pad. I checked fuse 24 and it is good.
The airbag light stays on. I checked the fuse 32 for rcm and it is good. I went to Auto Zone but they could not read srs codes. They referred me to another place with a Bosch reader that could and it found D1231 "crash data memory data full".
I bought it used as salvage. No signs of damage except driver door doesn't close tight and there is a small dent on the right rear fender. What should I do now?

Clock spring in the column is most likely bad if its a salvage car and the airbag light is on it means its deployed once in a tripped state the Airbag control module is branded itself and you will need to pay to have someone reset the module or find a replacement..

the clockspring usually breaks when the force of the airbag goes off the shock and heat damage the ribbon cable.. check to make sure the horn itself actually works does it beep when you lock the car with the fob? if so then theres something broken in the column

The horn never works. The tpms was trained and it did not sound. I heard about resetting the module and the clockspring. How do I get to the clockspring?

here the thing you mentioned that the airbag module is in tripped mode... your clockspring may be fine and your actual physical horns may be dead.. very quick test.. grab your keys and press and hold the panic button see if your lights start blinking and if your horn goes off.. if you see lights blinking and no horn then its most likely either the horns relay or the horns themselves as the panic alarm bypasses the wheel and your steering wheel may be perfectly fine and the airbag deployment may of been just your belt tensioners that deployed.. easy way to find out look at your buckles if one of them is recessed further down then the other then they are deployed and are also bad.

pull the battery and wait 10 minutes, unbolt the steering wheel airbag and pull the steering wheel nut off and remove the steering wheel.. the clockspring is on the column behind the wheel itself its got a very long ribbon cable in a module that when you turn the wheel you continue to have your controls and buttons working..

as for the horn they are known to go bad lift up the front of the car or put it on ramps and look at your horn and see if its still connected to the body, the brackets of that year are known to corrode to nothing and the horn breaks away or the insides of the horn get destroyed by moister ingress that corrodes it.. easy way to check go under the car with earplugs and a small 12 volt gell cell battery or motorcycle battery and connect it to the pins of the horn if it sounds it works if it doesn't its dead or if you remote it and you shake it and it rattles its also junk

this is an earlier model focus a (also a UK right hand drive but it gives you the idea of where it is)

and this is the module itself

I had a local auto parts store with a srs code reader read the codes and found B1231 = Crash Data Memory Full.
So I believe that the restraints control module needs to be reset. From others, I think the RCM is in the center console. How do I remove it?
With regard to the horn, I found that the connector next to the horn is not connected. I tried to reconnect it and was unsuccessful.
