Circle Track Racing

Hey all, I have a guy who has some 08 to 11 Focus that he wants to see built into racecars. Now my question is what kind of issues coukd the drive by wire system cause. Also someone else told me thst if you turn too sharp it will also reduce throttle input, is this true, and are there any other concerns to worry about

I am not sure how far this pushes into but think its on the 08-11 also but I have had broken hubs on my MK1 2001 Focus when on a road track. Not the same as the circle track but would think any continual force on the hub could break it.

I find it odd that the only thing you are first thinking about is drive by wire issues. You have full drive train and mechanical reliability you would also want to look at.

I've raced a 1st gen before, had no issues. But reason we are looking into the 2nd gen is better gear ratio, better brakes. The issues that concern me the most are issues that could keep it from being competitive, then we can see hoe reliable it is, its more so a test car at this point.

I run a 2008 ses with a manual. I finished fifth in points with it all stock. The throttle isn't an issue in the corner but it will shut off at high rmps which is a pain. The one thing you will need to change is the strut and spindle from the first gen, the second gen parts are too thin and weak.
