Who is in the 200,000 miles club?

By next Thursday or Friday my 2009 Focus SE automatic is going to cross 200K miles. My Ford Ranger 4x4 made 235,000 before a ring cracked and put it down.

An honorable mention to my Saturn SL1 that expired at 185,000 when it gave up everything to protect me when I had an accident. I think it would have done 200K+

Needless to say, I'm shopping for the next car so I know a head of time what I'm willing to buy when my trusty and slightly rusty Focus tells me that it no longer owes me anything.

I'd buy another new MKII Focus when my steed dies but that isn't possible. I looked at the MKIII and the trunk looked smaller which bothered me but the issues with the DCT scares me away.

Today I looked at an Escape. More money than I want to spend but it looks nice. I've been saving my car payment money since I paid the Focus off.

The longer I can keep driving my focus w/o having to pay for a major repair the more affordable the Escape will be.

So how far have you high milers made it w/o a major repair. By major, I mean more than replacing brakes.

I plan to drive this car until it drops and hopefully change horses quickly.

Clutch

I'm close. I'll have 189k tomorrow on my way home from work. 2009 SES 5-speed. No major repairs. The car probably won't hit 200k with me behind the wheel. I have a 2016 SE 5-speed on order and I'll get it in November.

Hey pioneer when/have you replaced the clutch? My 2008 is right at 120,000 and I'm getting to the point of preparing for a new one. No issues but it has always engaged very close to the top. This will be my first clutch job but I believe I can do it. Can't see dropping $600 in labor. Done a ton of pull and replace and even installed a 6inch lift kit on a bronco.

240,000 on a dodge caravan and it still passes Atlanta emissions.

Hasn't needed a clutch. Don't feel any slipping. 75% of my commute is highway.

I made it a day sooner than expected and missed the roll. I looked down yesterday and it was at 200035. I hope I catch 250000 and get a picture.

Why not a MK3 which trumps the trunk and buy a 5 speed? Or saving for a bigger Escape might be a better proposition.

2002 ZX3 with 224000 as of this morning. Water pump bearing noise had a dealer tell me that the tranny was chewing itself up. Aside from that only a clutch replacement about 20000 miles ago.
