Yes, same thing with me. I have it so the beams just barely overlap in the front. I really would love to do a projector retrofit exactly like popwarhomie's, but I really need the light spread, which the "driving" pattern in these absolutely satisfies. While my Escape is tons better at night, it's not my daily driver as my commute to work would bring it way over my lease mileage. And those roads I drive daily are pitch black on my way home.

Popwarhomie, if its not much trouble, what exactly did you use for your projector retrofit? Out of curiosity. I REALLY like it, and who knows I may do it next year or something. Did you post a thread about them?

They don't interfere with the beam pattern at all. I did my retrofit 3 years ago and made sure they didn't block the beam at all.

Morimoto MH1 5.0 projectors
Morimoto 35 watt ballast
Morimoto 5000k bulbs

Which shrouds did you pick? i want to do the same setup, but i have been skeptical about what shrouds to get, how well they fit in the housing, and if there is any space between the shroud and the reflector?
haven't found much info on this stuff in particular, most of the howto's just go into detail about mounting the projector!
Now that i know you don't have to cut out the bars, that makes it a lot easier, and something i know i wouldn't screw up haha

E46-R shrouds. I think they look the best on our cars IMO.

I was really happy with the way they fit. They look much better than the Gatling gun or the Graphites I have on my truck.

Did you have to trim them to fit? or essentially a direct fit?

I want to say they didn't require any trimming to fit the shrouds. Been 3 years though.

Yeah, thanks bro! I think I'm definitely going to do that eventually as well... Right after I replace my suspension that's starting to go bad.
