if its the front headrests do the following.
1. You have the regular button to adjust the height on the front headrest.
on the other side of the there is a recessed button that you need a flathead screwdriver to push it in. When you have the headrest all the way up hold both of the buttons in and then pull the head rest out.

thanks. as they say...........Knowledge Is Power
what you gonna do with the headrests. I took out my drivers side one, then removed the fabric cover and sewed up a "British Union Jack". looks sharp and I have not seen one anywhere.

I want to turn the head restraint around on my 2005 Focus Wagon so my neck is in neutral. Why car manufacturers design them to push the neck forward is beyond me! Neither of the 2 buttons release it, only raise it. Any suggestions?

How do you get the black plastic headrest holders out of the seatback frame so you can remove seat fabric and replace.ffguide.net/headrests_head_restraint_guide_sleeve-543

The black plastic inserts simply snap in but remove by compressing the underside to get the loose.
