Clutch pedal height to start

How far should you have to push down to start the vehicle because lately I have been having to push down all the way to the floor to get it to start. Any idea what could cause this?

I assume by 'start' you mean crank (starter motor turns). When you push down on the clutch pedal you are activating (closing) the Clutch Inhibit Switch. The switch is self adjusting. In the pic below of my 2005 ZX4 5-speed its the black switch with a gray plunger on the left most side of the pic. You can see how a bracket with a small rubber bumper presses on the switch plunger when you push the clutch pedal down. You can disconnect the switch from its connector and test it on or off the pedal bracket to verify that the contacts close when the plunger is pushed in.
