The reason I even bring it up is because it is a fully spec'd kit that will fit any older Focus with zero modification or difficulty. The same can't be said of the SVT kit, if you can even find it.
Dont disagree with antyhing you say above (nor do I think I indicated on the previous posts).

If the OP is not wanting to change a a pair of $60 control arms for 05 knuckles (as he says due to finances and family situations) I doubt he is going to want to drop $600 on just the rear.

not sure what you mean with the last statement of "The same can't be said of the SVT kit, if you can even find it. " How is the SVT "kit" not a direct replacement vs the Massive? The only think you dont have to change on the Massive vs SVT is the spindle which is only 8 more 13mm bolts. granted these are usually rusted and sometime brake off.

For 08-11 cars specifically, don't know about 05-07, the SVT kit requires modification to the rear to correctly bolt in the SVT assembly. It does not allow you to use the drum spindle like Massive's kit. Also depending on year and trim, the SVT rear brake lines don't fit properly, requiring you either have custom braided lines cut or you use the SVT lines and risk brake failure. Some have also stated having issues with the parking brake compatibility.

In the case of the OP, maybe a used or refurbished SVT kit would be fine. It is specifically designed to fit 00-04 cars.

Good to know about the other years. My experiance is only with the 00-04 Mk1 platform for this swap.

In order to use Massive or SVT brakes in the front, OP would still need SVT Knuckles or 05+ Knuckles

Also ive seen theres one other focus Mk1 that came with a rear disc. I saw it in someones thread but prob just as hard to find as a svt in the junkyard. There is a contour svt in my local junkyard but doing that swap isn't for me at this point

Your likely refering to the Advance Track Focus. There are a few out there that have the option. they have the stock front brakes but a 10" rear rotor vs the 11" rear rotor the SVT uses. but the only difference is the bracket that is used to space the caliper away from the hub.

But many say upgrading the rear to the SVT with out the front puts to much bias on the rear and is not ideal. I cant speak to this as I have never had my cars in this configuration.

If you find an SVT..Unbolt the whole rear subframe. Unbolt the trailing arms from the pan. Disconnect brake lines and back half of parking brake cables. Much easier to swap subs than swap all the parts and mess with the dust shield.
