Busted front end/ frame

Hi, this is my first post but I have used this site and forums for a few years now. I drive a 2003 SE.

I recently damaged my front end, breaking the front frame piece that holds the hood bonnet down. The headlights also mount to this frame piece. Now I cannot keep my hood latched because it isn’t held down by anything. The bonnet and cable are all in working order, they basically can attach to the hood but will fly up with it, if driving. The frame piece that holds the hood down is broken.

I am wondering how hard it would be to replace that frame piece and what that piece is actually called. I found these numbers/ codes on said piece.

VRW042
3S418C051AA

If replacing this part is difficult, what would be another option to keeping my hood closed while driving?

Thank you for any help.

You're not going to find anything to hold the hood in place as well as that part, often called the 'upper radiator support'. It's not that hard to replace although you won't be doing it in say a half hour.

With it gone there is simply nothing else there to hold the hood, radiator and headlights, it would require a big chuck of custom one-off work to replace it with something else.

Check in buy-n-n sell section or ebay to replace.

That one not expensive but it is the shipping that kills you, the big box.

Part ordered, thanks for the link above.

Hopefully installing it isn’t too crazy.
