couple problems, related or not?

so I am looking at a project car (2002 zx3) and it has several problems I will need to address so looking for input. first the car has a new battery and alternator yet still the battery drains I guess. sounds like it must have a parasitic drain but I havent seen the car in person yet. also the factory radio does not work. more importantly the speedo and odometer do not work. the owner says when the car is started (jumpstart) the odometer flashes the mileage real quick before going to dashes and the speedo stays at zero.
Any ideas? obviously fuses but I really would like to focus on speedo first
