Trouble shooting a used 2000

Hello everyone
I found a great deal on a used 2000.
The price is good and the car is in excellent shape for the year.

The bad news is itís not running.

The seller says the car ran then stopped and wouldnít restart.

I pick the car up next week so have time to come up with a plan to trouble shoot and fix.

Iíve checked the fluids and they look ok.
The battery seems ok

Iím not familiar with the Focus and what issues are common to look at first.

So any help would be really appreciated.
And of course thanks in advance

Do NOT buy it if the engine says 'split port' on the top of it, and the SPI engine that blows up so very often. That one may already be there. Eighth digit of the VIN will be a 'P' if the bad one. A '3' is zetec and the good engine.

If you can run the VIN to see if it’s a salvage title, that would tell you it was totaled out at some point. Would that particularly matter?

Good luck,
Reg
