Alternative wheels

I tried fitting 14" wheels from a Merkur XR4ti but they don't remotely clear the brake caliper in front. 15" wheels from a Contour seem to fit. I wonder if they might require different lug nuts? I guess I'll find out!
Anyway, see attached pictures with stock wheels and with Contour wheels.

or Flikr...
Car is a 4 x 108 bolt pattern. So any wheel that is a 15" or larger on stock brakes (for SVT 16" or larger is needed unless you get special wheels or grind the caliper).

you wont need different lug nuts, just make sure the bolt patern and wheel offset are similar to stock.

If you had an early focus, the 14's might have fit. Early LX models came with 14" wheels. Your mk1.5" gen came with larger brakes and as you found out and mentioned above, min wheel size is 15"
