HID pics/questions

so I've got the mach HID's on my 02 SVTF. Factory bulb is the 4300k. I just got my 6000k bulbs in yesterday and put em in. got a pic of the comparison between the two bulbs and have a question. first the pics

6000k (left) vs factory 4300k (right)

driver side

passenger side

both together

now here's my question, how do I adjust the cut off shield? if you notice my passenger side pic, it's a much cleaner 'cut off' compared to my driver side. I also noticed that the actual projector seems a little more recessed than my driver side. (I'll try to take pics of that tonight) how can I adjust the cutoff shield so my driver side looks as clean as my passenger side?

Has either headlight ever been replaced? The passenger side looks like it might be a Depo, judging from how the cutoff is sharper and has more blue, which can be contributed to the fact that if you swap in a clear lens and/or bend the cutoff shield you can get a clear cutoff and more blue at the cutoff.

It could also be the bulb. The driver side has a hot spot, which shouldn't be there. Did you try swapping in both bulbs and taking pictures on the wall? Before with the 4300K and after with the 6000K?

Yea, the passenger light was replaced. But I believe it has a ford stamp on it, not like the eBay ones. Both bulbs are the new ones. I can try swapping out the driver one with the old one and see if the 'hot spot' is still there. But what is this hot spot? That the yellowish part?

And how do you bend the cutoff shield?

Here's your driver side pic that I editted to better show you the hotspot.

Notice how its not at the cutoff line? Try checking if the bulb is sitting properly also.

Compared to your passenger side

The light is concentrated at the cutoff line, just like how it should be.

Also, check to make sure the passenger side is indeed a Ford and not the Depo. Depos have a clear lens, where as the Ford lens has 'rings' on it. You can tell what kinda lens you have just by looking at it.

Also, I had a picture that showed how to mod the E55 projectors for more color at the cutoff, let me see if I can find it. i posted it in this forum before.

your new bulbs are 6000k, so they are aftermarket? Aftermartet bulbs are known to have poor quality control. Your hot spot with the 6000k bulb is most likely not right bc the focal point of bulb is off. Stick with OEM bulbs.

You can do that. Open the hood, the Ford tag is on the top of the headlight, hidden when the hood is closed. You can't tell if it's forward without opening the hood or not.

If you have a DSLR or something with macro or a really good focus, try taking pics of the projector lens also.

Is the hotspot still there with the old set of light bulbs?

Oh and I found the shield mod to get more color at the cutoff.

Does the projector lens look 'clearer' on the passenger side than the driver? And does the driver side lens look 'hazy'?
