cf hood ?'s

I was looking at a 00-04 V.I.S. Ford Focus Evo style carbon fiber hood. I wanted to know is it that much noticable lighter than my stock hood on my 01? and is it hard to maintain one from getting sunfade and what not?

Much lighter!

AS far as fading, just keep it waxed and you should be fine.

really how much on geustimate? I assumed it wouldn't be cause our hoods are small. Although I have never physically took the stock one off to feel. Its pretty heavy apparently huh?

The ViS Evo style hood that you are looking at weighs around 11-12 lbs on average. The stock hood I believe weighs in at around 35 lbs if I am not mistaken. As for the care of a CF hood would be to use a carnuba wax on it to keep it from fading to quick. But eventually the clearcoat will fade over time and usually clouds up around the bends of the hood. The only cure for that is to have it sanded down and clearcoated again.
