Hey man it took me about 2 hours for everything, I let the caps dry on my car since the car was facing the sun anyway.. it doesn't take long, and it's relaxing to sit in the sun while waiting for the paint to dry.

I don't think the caps are different. Your write up worked perfectly for my mirrors on an 01 zx3. This is a perfect example of how anyone can learn new things off the forums. I consider myself to be a veteran in the BODY field of the focus, and I never knew the caps popped off my mirrors. I will definately be painting soon!!!

Ohh, and for wetsanding the clear coat, dont use anything less than 1000, I would just use 1500. Esp with rattle can clear. then get a buffing compound and a terry cloth and rub your ass off!!!

Thanks again

I did this yesterday, took me a long time since it was my first time ever doing something like this. Had a little trouble with the wetsanding at first. The final product came out nice though, feels as smooth as the actual car and it is also reflective.

i'd assume that the caps on an 05+ would come off the same?

They are all the same method. The clips are shown as an 05, since that is what I drive.

A quick question-Do you just move your mirror (glass) around in diffrent directions to get to those retaining clips? OR Do you work from the out side of the caps? Thanks
